The Toyota Symphonies for Youth series features four pairs of concerts created especially for children age five to eleven and their families. These multi-disciplinary concerts showcase the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and introduce the world of classical music to children through imaginative and original storytelling in a theatrical setting. Before every concert, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Walt Disney Concert Hall becomes a musical playground with hands-on art making, musical activities, dance, and storytelling or theater. The instrument petting zoo workshop offers the chance for children to be mentored by the students of YOLA’s leadership board on how to properly hold orchestral instruments. Workshops take place in the lobby spaces one hour prior to the performance.
