Who is Norbert? He’s the most adorable little ball of fluff. He’s a sweet little fellow. He’s a three pound registered therapy dog who travels with his mom Julie to put smiles on people’s faces and bring joy to their lives.
Norbert has “written” three books (so far) with amazing art by Julie’s mom Virginia. These books are designed for ages three and up and make wonderful books for nighttime reading or anytime fun.
The first book, Norbert: What Can Little Me Do? sets the stage for this fellow’s background. He is only three pounds and as he goes through situations, he looks at the big world and wonders what his place in it is. He discovers his gift of helping others and bringing some joy into their lives, proving you don’t have to be big to make a difference. Size doesn’t matter. He became a registered therapy dog to spread love. This little guy can put the biggest smile on anyone’s face. That’s what he can do!
Then Norbert looks at what others can do. Norbert: What Can Little You Do? is his follow-up book. Tales of Norbert and his human friends are not only meant to entertain readers – and those being read to – but to inspire everyone to make a difference. As he says, “One little smile can make a BIG difference.” This is definitely an inspiring book for everyone.
In his third book, Norbert & Lil Bub: What Can Little WE Do? Norbert, Julie, Lil Bub, and Lil Bub’s dad Mike, tell a fun story of these two popular animals. Lil Bub is one of the world’s most famous real-life cats. She and Grumpy Cat both have unique faces. Lil Bub’s story is one of helping other animals who need a home. Together Norbert and Lil Bub share an exciting adventure.
All of these books are fun to read and the images add greatly to the stories. Mixed media artwork brings kids right into the stories and endears the characters to readers – along with the narratives. They go hand in hand, and rightly so. The books are a family collaboration, after all. With Norbert’s stories, penned by his mom Julie, and Virginia’s art, the books are keepers to be handed down from generation to generation. Some books last a lifetime and through the years get worn with love, and these will be among them.
