‘A Knight to Remember’ is a fairy tale for our time
Category: Television and StreamingThe latest Hallmark movie, A Knight to Remember, is a fun fairy tale fitting for today’s world.
The story has shades of Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, and Pinocchio.
Once upon a time…
Sir Griffin de Beauford (James Trevena) is a 15th century Knight. He is apprehensive about his upcoming marriage and asks the stars for guidance. (Pinocchio) He wants them to turn his heart to stone until he knew what would make his life whole. Well, it just happened that the stars aligned that night in an unusual way and lo and behold, Griffin was completely turned to stone. (Frozen)
Six hundred years later, the “statue” was delivered to a Chicago museum for an exhibit of Medievel times, with Emily Porter (Julie Gonzalo), the museum’s historian and conservator, overseeing the exhibit. While cleaning off the statue, Emily notices some carving. It mentions a kiss. That itself sounds interesting to her, so on a whim she kisses the statue.
Magically, Sir Griffin comes back to life (Snow White and Sleeping Beauty). Emily is confused and stunned, but also feels responsible for this man who is out of his time, and takes him back to her apartment. Together, with the help of the museum’s publicist Ivy (Britt Irvin), they try to figure out what is happening.
Sir Griffin, now referred to as Griffin Knight, is conflicted. He wants to return to his own time, but is also drawn to Emily. What they discover through their research is that Griffin will turn back to stone for eternity by the next alignment of the stars which will occur in a few days. What he and Ivy also discover is that only truly love will save him from turning back to stone. (Beauty and the Beast)
With the FBI trying to track down the missing statue, Emily, Griffin, and Ivy must do everything to help him acclimate to 2026. Luckily there is a Medieval faire happening, making Griffin feel more at home.
Will Emily realize her true feelings before it is too late?
Yes, it is predictable but it is also a very fun and entertaining story. And Trevena will have hearts melting, or breaking, as he maneuvers his way through the days with his Old English manners, accent, Medieval chivalry and charm. Who wouldn’t fall for him? He’s gorgeous.
The movie is a true delight and thoroughly enjoyable.
… and they lived happily ever after. (we hope)
A Knight to Remember premieres October 3, 2026 on Hallmark Channel and streams the following day on Hallmark+.
