'The JFK Files: Truth, Myth & Murder' coming to VOD
Category: Television and StreamingThe mafia, Castro and the Cubans, Russia, the CIA, the FBI, the military industrial complex, one lone gunman, etc., etc., etc. have all been part of the mystery involving the events that unfolded in Dallas on November 22, 1963. President John F. Kennedy was assassinated and since then the conspiracies and myths surrounding that fateful day have filled countless books, films, and documentaries. With the release of some previously classified documents, some very interesting questions have arisen, but there are still plenty of theories about that day in American – and world – history.
This new documentary is another look at some of those theories with eyewitness accounts of the day as well as historical documents. It delves into the various theories, one by one, and examines the possibilities of each of them. Did the United States of America undergo a coup that day, and what happened immediately after the assassination?
The Warren Commission, tasked with investigating the assassination, is one of the aspects put under a microscope. They claimed to have thoroughly investigated the assassination, but now it is clearly evident they definitely did not. So, why did they skim over facts and overlook witnesses?
The mafia definitely had their reasons to get rid of the president. The Cubans were also at the top of the list due to Kennedy’s involvement with the Bay of Pigs and then the Cuban Missile Crisis. But he had directed his people not to assassinate Castro. So, were they complicit even so?
President Kennedy had wanted to dismantle the CIA, and also had his differences with J. Edgar Hoover who was about to be forced to retire as head of the FBI. And, with the Vietnam War on the brink of escalation, Kennedy had decided to pull away from there, however the military complex was against that move.
“Documentaries that revisit major historical events can challenge audiences to look beyond the familiar narrative and ask questions that remain unanswered,” said Rich Wolff, CEO of Breaking Glass Pictures. “We’re pleased to work with Jersey Shore Entertainment to bring this thought-provoking documentary to audiences.”
Mario Domina, producer and CEO of Jersey Shore Entertainment, added, “The JFK Files: Truth, Myth & Murder is not simply a look back at history—it is an invitation to investigate it. The film brings together the questions, theories, evidence and contradictions that have kept the JFK assassination alive in the American consciousness for generations.”
While the documentary looks at the various theories, there is no definitive answer to the looming question, “Who killed JFK?” What this film does is take another look at the possibilities and brings the assassination back into the public’s consciousness. Those who were directly involved are all most likely deceased now, but that does not negate the public’s interest in getting to the truth – once and for all – finally. When will that happen?
John F. Kennedy once said, “The courage of life is often a less dramatic spectacle than the courage of a final moment; but it is no less a magnificent mixture of triumph and tragedy. A man does what he must – in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures – and that is the basis of all human morality.”
The JFK Files: Truth, Myth & Murder will be available on AVOD (advertising-supported video-on-demand) platforms.
