Have a Trolls party!

With the new DreamWorks Animation series Trolls: The Beat Goes On! streaming on Netflix, kids are once again enthralled by the furry haired little guys. And rightly so. They’re adorable and the series is filled with imaginative, musical, and entertaining storylines. So it’s no wonder kids will want Troll-themed parties this year. Here are some great ideas to make your Trolls party unique and fun for all.

Everyone can get in the spirit with his or her own Trolls wig. Pink is of course for Poppy and blue for Branch. (This is also a fun idea for adults going to costume parties.)

Creating a Poppy-inspired headband is a crafting idea that is sure to be popular among young girls. All you need is a plain headband, ribbon, and some felt flowers. Kids can glue on the flowers and ribbon to create their personal Poppy headband. (This is also another fun idea for adult costume parties.)

Poppy loves her scrapbook. Why not let kids create their own scrapbooks? It’s fun and inspires individual creativity. Start with a small blank book, preferably hard covered. Get plenty of Troll stickers, glitter, flat-back crystals, felt pieces, and other fun items. Making sparkly Poppy-like scrapbooks will be a fun and entertaining activity for everyone.

And what party would not be complete without a gift bag? Fill the bag with goodies and a little take-home troll doll and this party will be a memorable one.

A trip to the craft store for the items, some decorating with colorful streamers, and party favors of Troll items combine to make a Troll party the talk of the neighborhood.

Thanks DreamWorks for the free DreamWorks Trolls: The Beat Goes On! Activity Set and Hasbro toys. They are the perfect inspiration for a Trolls-themed party or simply fun activities for a rainy day. Go Trolls!

New animated shows from DreamWorks and Netflix in 2018

DreamWorks and Netflix have several new animated series that will begin airing in 2018. Recently some members of the media – including myself – were given a sneak peek at the new shows. Hang onto your hats…they’re going to be a lot of fun.

First, Trolls: The Beat Goes On is a colorful and musical look inside Troll Village and Bergen Town. The series picks up where the first film left off, and leads viewers into the upcoming second feature film that is scheduled for release in 2020. In the meantime, viewers have plenty of great troll antics to keep them entertained.

Poppy and Branch (Amanda Leighton and Skylar Astin) are the perfect stars for this fun new show. From what I saw, this is an extraordinary new series for both boys and girls. The series is set to premier January 19, 2018.

The Boss Baby: Back in Business continues with the fun and humor of the little baby and his big brother. From the short clip I saw, I cannot wait for this one to start. It is simply adorable. After all, who doesn’t like a cute baby? And this one is in charge.

She-Ra is a look at ‘80s girl power. This is definitely geared for girls and will delight viewers with the strength of courage and character of the stars. This fun fantasy series is sure to be a favorite among many viewers.

Harvey Street Kids is another girl-powered series. Audrey, Lotta, and Dot are best buddies and team up to keep their street safe. They are the self-appointed guardians of Harvey Street.

The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants continues with the adventures of George Beard and Harold Hutchins. They are quite a pair, no pun intended, as their creation, Captain Underpants, provides wacky adventures for everyone.

DreamWorks Trollhunters Part 2: Tales of Arcadia has already been airing on Netflix. This highly acclaimed series follows a group of human kids who undertake the challenge of keeping the world safe. They must do this in the hidden world of the trolls. These aren’t the trolls with the colorful long hair. These trolls are different. This is an entertaining series for all ages.

With the collaboration of DreamWorks, Netflix has quickly become the place for young viewers. With their new animated lineup, it looks like another great year for kids TV.

‘Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia’ available on Netflix

Last year the DreamWorks Animation series Trollhunters took Netflix viewers to a new realm. The 26-episode first season was the most watched kids original series on Netflix, to date. The second season, Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia premiers December 15, 2017 with 13 fun-filled episodes for fans young and not-so-young.

As the writers explained to members of the media, the story was originally envisioned as a feature film, but there was too much to explore so they designed a serialized trilogy that has been created for TV viewers on Netflix. In the first season they crafted the different worlds: the human world and the troll world, and they brought the characters to life. Season two expands the characters and explores the mythology, giving a more detailed look at the background of the special magical items as well as the characters.

As they also discussed, Toby is not just a sidekick for Jim, and Claire is not just the token female/girlfriend. This season is definitely the “season of Claire,” and her strength and the power of her shadow staff comes into play more as the episodes progress.

The series is as entertaining for girls as it is for boys, and the kids who have been hooked on the show have involved their parents in it as well. The characters, mythology, and magic appeal to all viewers.

The late Anton Yelchin voiced the character of Jim in the show and the writers/producers expressed sadness that the actor didn’t live long enough to see the love and affection viewers have for the series.

Kelsey Grammer voices the adorable troll Blinky, and this season Mark Hamill comes on as Blinky’s evil brother Dictatious Maximus. The writers are excited by Hamill’s addition to the show. He brings a different level of enthusiasm and vision to his character than they originally imagined.

The third season in the trilogy will be “Wizards” yet that has yet to be finalized.

Trollhunters garnered the most Emmy Awards for in single year for an animated show. There’s no doubt the show has a strong following and with the way the entire season is available for binge watching on Netflix, it is sure to gain even more viewers as the second season hits the network.

With the winter months being notorious for sick days, having these two season available to view will be a welcome experience for any kid who is stuck in bed with a cold or the flu.

Trollhunters and Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia are rated TV-Y7.
